In 1952 the day is named "Ted Williams Day" for red sox fans, this day being created because Ted Williams would then have to be deployed with his fellow Marines.

Red Sox's Derek Lowe Pitches Complete Game
Its 2002 and Derek Lowe has pitched a complete game for the Boston Red Sox. This compelte game was the first Derek Lowe had ever pitched in the majors. The Red Sox win over the Devil Rays (10-0) in an impressive no hitter.

This day in 1916 Babe Ruth pitched a full game Vs the Yankees. Although Babe couldn't get a hit he won the game for the Red Sox (4-3).

Jim Rice Delivers
Its 1989 and Jim Rice hits a homer in the third inning at Fenway Park. Dwight Evans then homered right after Rice. After this 56th time the duo would never be able to do this again.

Manny Beats Ted Williams Record
The year is 2005 and Manny Ramirez has now beaten Ted William's grandslam record. Manny's 18th grandslam proved to be a historic one. These RBIs made the Red Sox beat the Devil Rays (6-2).

Elston Howard First African-American To Play For Yankees
In 1955 Elston Howard was the first player to play in a Yankee uniform. Even with the addition of this exception player the Yankees still lost to the Red Sox (8-4).

The NAACP Fight The Red Sox
In 1959 the NAACP expressed interest in investigating why the only black player, Jerry Green was sent back to the minor league system. Officials in Massachusetts claimed the invesigation would be outside of their jurisdiction because the trade occured in Arizona.

Canton Man Arrested For Ticket Scalping
Its 2002 and a Canton man is arrested outside of fenway park for selling a red sox ticket under face value. The charges were eventually dropped. However Gary Lanier wanted to take it one step further. Finally the judge ruled that noone should be arrested for selling tickets at face or below face value.

Hank Aaron In The American League
Hank Aaron is in the American League on this day in 1975. He made his debute as a Brewer. During that game police had to take down many fans from a whiskey billboard on landsdowne street.

1977 is the year and the Red Sox lose to the Indians (5-4). A game that went into the 11th inning. Yaz singled to first and then stole second base.

April Fools?
What was intially thought to be an April Fool's joke turned out to be real when the train that was transporting the red sox and reds ran out of coal on April 1st, 1940.
