A Historic Start time

On March 31st, 2003 the Red Sox opened up the season with the earliest regular season game the sox had ever played. It took place at Tropicana Field in Florida. The Red Sox lost this game due to using a bullpen without a closer at hand.

Red Sox Tickets To Be Added

In 2002 the Red Sox made a big annoucment, they will be adding 400 seats. Some of these seats would be dugout box seats that are currently at $250 a piece (up $50 from 2002). A season ticket holder only restraunt area was also in the works.

Coke Bottles Introduced To Fenway Park

A very controversial topic was brought up in 1997. Should Fenway Park utilize as much space for advertising as possible? The Red Sox thought so. A 25 foot bottle of Coke was tacked onto the outfield wall. Over the next years 2 additional coca-cola bottles would join it up there.

In 1992 the Red Sox are contemplating where they would like to build their new spring training facility. The city offered to build a $15 million facility for the red sox. Why would the city do such a thing? To help rebuild a city plaguaged by drugs and prostitution.

Its March 12, 2003 Boston Red Sox pitching coach Tony Cloninger announced he had bladder cancer. He eventually recovered but when he was well the red sox had already replaced him with Dave Wallace.

Spring Training Tickets - In Great Demand

In 2005 hundreds of fans camped out for over 40 hours for the chance to purchase Red Sox Vs. Yankees spring training tickets for games occuring at City of Palms Park. This was caused by the Red Sox 2004 World Series win.

Normar's Achilles Tendon

The year 2004, Nomar Garciaparra is forced onto the disabled list because of an injured right achilles tendon. Nomar states that he was hit by a ball while practicing. Normar does not make it off the disabled list until March 21st.

Ted Williams Breaks Collar Bone

On March 1, 1954 Ted Williams breaks his collar bone while attempting to catch a ball before spring training, benching him until March 15.
